China’s first E-cigarette standard was born in Shenzhen

JB News (Reporter/Chen Xinghua) reporter learned yesterday that the Shenzhen Electronic Cigarette Chamber of Commerce and related senior

e-cigarette companies jointly drafted the "General Standard of Electronic Cigarette", and has adopted by the expert group,the date of formal  imple-

mentation  is today.

It is reported that "General Standard for e cigarette " is   China's first standard  on  electronic  cigarettes,to fill  our  blank in  the  field of electronic

cigarette  standards. Earlier, the production of electronic cigarettes in China mainly use  the EU and the United  States standards.According  to  the

person in charge of Shenzhen E-Cigarette Chamber of Commerce, as the intensity of tobacco control continues to increase, consumers are paying

more attention to health, and electronic cigarettes are more and more sought  after by people.  In  the economically  developed cities, the e-cigarette

consumer market has taken shape.  Big tobacco companies are starting to compete for e-cigarette  consumers through mergers and  acquisitions.

About 90% of global e-cigarette  manufacturers are  in  China, of which  70%  Shenzhen and the  surrounding  areas.  In  the  above  context, the  e-cigarette  industry enterprises called for establishing their own standards, doing a good job in foreign markets, developing the domestic  market  at

the same time as soon as possible to create a Chinese-style electronic cigarette.

Electronic cigarettes, also known as smokeless cigarettes, e-cigarettes, or e-cigs, are an healthier alternative method of consuming  nicotine, the

addictive chemical found in tobacco. Manufacturers often design e-cigarettes  to look like regular cigarettes, but they contain  no tobacco and don't

require a match -- or any flame at all.

An e-cigarette is a battery-powered device that converts liquid nicotine into a mist, or vapor, which the user inhales. There's no fire, no ash and no

smoky smell. E-cigarettes do not contain harmful chemicals associated with smoking tobacco cigarettes, such as carbon monoxide and tar. e-cigs

have helped  reduce their "smoker's cough," sharpened their senses of taste and smell, and even improved their sleep.
